Northwest Christian University graduate Kristina Payne ’99, was featured in the January edition of Blue Chip, the monthly business magazine of Eugene’s The Register-Guard newspaper.
Payne is the executive director of the Lane Workforce Partnership, a Lane County NGO that manages the use of federal funds to meet job training and other workforce needs of employers and individuals through partnerships and innovation.
In the four-page cover article she talked about the variety initiatives and activities the partnership leads and participates in to develop a ready workforce to support Lane County’s efforts to retain and attract businesses in the area.
Payne also credited the bachelor’s degree she earned in marketing from NCU as a bright beacon on her career path. In the article she said her NCU education was “ the most intense education I’d ever received. There was no back of the class.”
“For me, Northwest Christian University was what I needed, it was a turning point for me,” she said.
Payne oversees 7.5 staff members and an annual budget of $5 million. The partnership is governed by a 24-member board of directors comprised of leaders from business, labor, economic development, and education.
Payne is married to Todd Payne. They have two adult children.
