Bushnell Alumna Tyler Powell to Debut on NBC’s The Voice

EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University alumna Tyler Powell ’23 is ready to take the national stage as she competes on NBC’s The Voice, premiering Monday, February 3, at 8 p.m. Fans can tune in to new episodes every Monday, with next-day streaming available on Peacock TV.

A 2023 graduate of Bushnell University, Powell earned her degree in Music Business, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While at Bushnell, she distinguished herself as a talented and creative musician, participating in the University Choir, Bushnell Chorale, and Grove, the university’s worship leadership team. Through these experiences, she developed her artistry and leadership skills, laying the foundation for her blossoming career.

In the spring of 2023, Powell furthered her education at the Contemporary Music Center (CMC) in Nashville, Tenn. The immersive program provided her with invaluable, hands-on industry experience, from recording sessions to networking with professionals in the heart of Music City. These opportunities enhanced her confidence and prepared her for this exciting chapter in her musical journey.

“Tyler Powell has The Voice, and the humility, dedication, and spiritual maturity to go with it,” said Dr. Kelly Ballard, Associate Dean of Music & Performing Arts and Associate Professor of Music at Bushnell University. “I’ll never forget the first time I heard her lead chapel and saw how captivated the audience was. I walked up to the stage and said, ‘It’s your voice.’ She is a stellar artist and person who demonstrates for the Bushnell community and beyond where hard work and commitment can lead. She has earned her place on that stage.”
