CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Bushnell University athletic training staff was recognized as the 2024-25 Cascade Collegiate Conference Athletic Training Staff of the Year, announced by the conference office.
The CCC Association of Student Athletes (ASA) representatives voted on the top athletic training staff in the conference, with the BU staff receiving the honor.
“Congratulations to our athletic training team! What a great way for them to be honored by those that they serve,” stated Bushnell’s Athletic Director Corey Anderson. “We are blessed to have great people who represent their profession along with Bushnell and our values, so well. I have the privilege of working with Gui, Lexi and Ramsey every day while they serve our student-athletes, teams and coaches. To know that this same level of respect and appreciation is shared by other student-athletes throughout the CCC is obviously rewarding and humbling.”
Guillermo Torres-Sanchez is the Director of Athletic Training at Bushnell, where he completed his undergraduate degree in 2015. He was a four-year member of the Beacons cross country and track and field teams and was a six-time academic All-CCC selection. He served as both a captain and chaplain captain during his time. While earning his undergraduate degree in exercise science, he was an intern in the NCU athletic training office. He went on to earn his Master’s of Science in Athletic Training from Pacific University.
Torres-Sanchez has worked as an ATC for Bushnell around six years and is grateful for the recognition. He stated, “We are honored to receive the Athletic Training Staff of the Year Award and I’m very proud of our team and all the effort that was put in this year. We are so thankful to be in collaboration among fantastic athletic trainers throughout our conference who take such good care of our teams while they’re on the road. We are beyond blessed to work with great student-athletes not only within Bushnell University but throughout the CCC as well.”
Also apart of the Beacon staff includes Assistant Athletic Trainers, Lexi Lewis and Ramsay Peters. Lewis joined in 2023. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training at Cedarville University and went on to earn a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Ohio University. Peters began last year, after a year at Arizona Christian University, which was preceded by two years as a student athletic trainer at ACU. Peters graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.
Bushnell has been recognized for this honor three times, in 2016, 2021, and 2025.
