It was a packed house as 270 international students and guests from Northwest Christian University and Lane Community College gathered for a traditional American Thanksgiving Dinner in the Morse Event Center on Sun., Nov. 17, 2019.
Students from across the globe, including Haiti, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Japan, Mexico, and the Pacific Islands shared traditions of their own and enjoyed a delicious catered dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy with a variety of side dishes and desserts prepared by the NCU and LCC staff, community members, and local churches.
NCU Instructor of Music Addison H.K. Wong, M.M., opened the evening with a welcome, sharing a memory of his first American Thanksgiving . NCU students Dieuson Alix, a junior from Haiti; Alessia Righi, a freshman from Italy; and Paul Zarkin a sophomore from Mexico City, Mexico, shared their NCU experience with the group.
