EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University senior accounting major Jackson Gielish has been awarded the Oregon Society of CPAs (OSCPA) Educational Foundation Scholarship for 2024. Inspired by his parents and Bushnell accounting professor Shelly Hartzel, who holds an M.S.M., CPA, and CMA, Gielish is dedicated to becoming a CPA and helping clients navigate their business challenges.
“Professor Hartzel inspired me to take the route of being a CPA,” he reflects. For Gielish, success means not only mastering technical skills but also building trust with clients to meet their needs.
By being proactive in his career preparation, Gielish secured an internship at Kernutt Stokes, laying the groundwork for his future career. “Obtaining this internship was a significant step toward achieving my professional goals,” he shares.
