EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell University student-athletes have delivered another strong season of competition and achievement. From postseason success on the hardwood to record-breaking performances on the track, the Beacons continued to excel both athletically and academically.
The season was highlighted by three Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Players of the Week, three All-Conference honorees, and continued excellence in the classroom. A total of 12 student-athletes earned Academic All-Conference recognition, while 11 were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes, which recognizes those who maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Men’s Basketball
The Beacons showed resilience throughout the season, earning the No. 6 seed in the CCC Tournament. Bushnell highlighted its postseason appearance with an upset victory over No. 3 seed Southern Oregon in the quarterfinals, securing the program’s first postseason win in nine years and advancing to the semifinals.
Cory Johnson continued his impressive career, earning First-Team All-CCC honors for the second consecutive season while also being named CCC Player of the Week three times. He finished second on the team and fourth in the conference in scoring with 17.3 ppg, while adding 7.1 rebounds per game and shooting 83.7% from the free-throw line, the fourth best in the CCC.
Johnson elevated his play down the stretch, averaging 28.6 points per game over the final five contests. His late-season surge included a key upset of CCC co-champion Eastern Oregon and a clutch postseason performance against Southern Oregon, where he knocked down three free throws with 0.1 seconds remaining to seal the Beacons’ quarterfinal victory.
He was joined on the First Team by redshirt sophomore Kaleb Burnett, the 2025 CCC Freshman of the Year, who earned his first All-Conference selection after leading the Beacons in both scoring and rebounding, with 18.5ppg and 7.9rpg. Burnett ranked second in the CCC in both categories and recorded 12 games with 20 or more points and nine double-doubles, including a season-high 30-point performance against Walla Walla in January.
Head Coach Eddie Alexander also reached a significant milestone during the season, surpassing 100 career victories and moving into third place on Bushnell’s all-time wins list with 103.
Indoor Track & Field
Bushnell’s indoor track & field program saw 14 school records fall during the indoor season: eight on the women’s side and six on the men’s side.
Among the standout moments was Brett Olmstead’s pole vault mark of 4.66 meters (15’3.5”), which broke the program record that had stood for nine years.
Also of note, junior Kaleo Wellman and senior Ty Kishen qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Gainesville, Florida, where they competed in the long jump and high jump, respectively.
Women’s Basketball
The Beacons’ season was highlighted by notable individual achievements and historic performances.
Ayden Krupke became just the seventh player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points, earning All-Cascade Conference Honorable Mention honors in the process.
Krupke also delivered one of the top single-game performances in recent program history. Against Corban on December 2, she scored 36 points, the most by a Beacon in 17 years and the second-highest total in school history.
