Just days before students return to campus for the fall semester, the campus fire pit project has officially been completed. The project was commissioned and funded this past spring at the request of the Associated Students of Northwest Christian University (ASNCU).
“Students take advantage of small group meeting spaces” says Michael Fuller, vice president for enrolment and student development. “NCU is always looking for ways we can build community. Last year, we created The Fire Place, a living room of sorts, on the second floor of the Kellenberger Library Building. Although open for all students, the primary purpose was to provide a space for the University’s commuter students to study, rest or even cook a quick meal between classes. This year, the efforts moved outside with the creation of the fire pit.”
The campus fire pit will serve as prime space for official student programming and activities. In addition, ASNCU members envision this location to quickly become a favorite casual hang-out spot for socializing and late night worship gatherings.
S’mores anyone?
