Catholic Community Services of Lane County recognized Northwest Christian University students, faculty and staff for their generosity and work to fill collection bins on campus with new and gently used winter clothes and linens for community members experiencing poverty or homelessness.
“I am proud how our campus comes together to support our neighbors in need through Catholic Community’s Services and other important campus life and church-based programs,” said NCU’s President, Joseph D. Womack, Ed.D. “It is important to recognize the good work and contributions of all, but I want to especially thank two NCU staff members, Mary Jo Gossman and Erica Clements, for coordinating this important initiative.”
NCU collected 349 items and was sixth among the 30 local businesses and churches who filled bins for CCSLC’s annual winter clothes drive. More than 6,000 items of clothing and linens were collected for local families and individuals in need. According to CCSLC, 1,000 more items were collected this year than in 2015.
