Beacon Run to Raise Mission Trip Donations

On September 29th, Northwest Christian University’s office of Residence Life and Alumni Association held the 2nd annual Beacon Run, a 2.5 mile run/walk around the Willamette River near downtown Eugene. Several students, their families, faculty, and staff rose early on Saturday for the event aimed at raising money for NCU’s mission teams. The Beacon Run is scheduled as a part of NCU’s yearly Homecoming Week, when families and alumni are welcomed back to campus experience NCU.

Brittney Yip, NCU alum and current graduate assistant for Student Life stated, “It is so great seeing so many people come out and support our mission teams.”

Through donations the Beacon Run raised over $300, enough to send a student to a mission trip this coming Spring Break. Co-coordinator of the Beacon Run and NCU’s Director of Church and Alumni Relations, Shannon Balmer added, “I am so excited to see the students, alumni, and parents participating in the Beacon Run and supporting our mission teams. I am looking forward to seeing this event continue every year during homecoming.”

If you are interested in hearing more about our mission teams and/or would like to learn how to donate to the NCU mission teams, feel free to contact the Student Life office.
