Experience Christmas Bliss with Northwest Christian University

Bliss Postcard Front for approvalThe Northwest Christian University Music Department invites you to join them on a journey of discovery and remembrance of holiday bliss.

Experience Christmas with NCU with be performed at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm on both Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6 at Ross B. Evans Chapel, located on campus.  Media are invited to attend the final dress rehearsal on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6:00 pm

The annual holiday concert will feature the 70-member University Choir and Orchestra, as well as musical groups Grove Collective Worship, Willow and the NCU Jazz Band. New faculty member Addison Wong will also play an original cello/piano arrangement.

In addition to the joyful sounds of Christmas, this year’s show will also evoke its theme of “bliss” through a variety of elements, including a forecast of snow!

Music Director Karen De Young said this year’s theme was inspired by C.S. Lewis’ quote: “The fact that our heart yearns for something Earth can’t supply is proof that Heaven must be our home.”

“As humans, we yearn for more,” said De Young, who is in her third year at NCU. “The child in all of us wants to feel the magic of Christmas, yet we are often left unfulfilled. We want take the audience on a journey of discovering and remembering a deep and fulfilling bliss.”
