Northwest Christian Universitystudents who will study abroad or go on mission trips this summer are holding a crafts fair to raise money to offset the expenses related to their travel.
Alleya Harris, a junior, exercise science major from Gilchrist, Oregon, will teach English at Dankook University in South Korea. “’My burning conviction is that there is a whole wide world beyond America and I want to see it and experience it,” she said. “I am excited to study the Korean language and be surrounded by students from around the globe.”
Karen Head, the Public Services Director for the Kellenberger Library, is the faculty advisor for the Study Abroad Craft Fair. Lauren Kramp is the university’s Off-Campus Programs Coordinator in charge of preparing students for overseas academic programs.
This summer NCU students will share what the have learned in the classroom and chapel to study programs in Costa Rica, England, South Korea, and Italy as well as mission trips to Mexico, Cambodia, and Nicaragua.
What students bring back to campus from learning, living, studying and serving in other countries adds depth and perspective to the entire campus community.
The Study Abroad Crafts Fair is Sat., April 23, 2016, in the NCU Banquet Room from 10 AM to 2 PM.
