Student Award Winners Announced

Seniors Kelsey Chaloupka, Michelle Fletcher, Lindsey Heikes and Samara Eilert received Northwest Christian University’s highest student honors for academic achievement and leadership during the 118th Commencement on May 6, 2017, in the Morse Event Center on campus.

Chaloupka. Fletcher, and Heikes received the President’s Scholastic Award for the highest cumulative grade point average with at least 61 credit hours earn at NCU. Each graduated summa cum laude (3.90-4.0 GPA). Chaloupka graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Fletcher with a Bachelor of Science in biology, and Heikes with Bachelor of Arts in teacher education.

The NCU student body and faculty voted Eilert to receive the Kendall E. Burke Award for high scholastic standing, an inspiration to students and faculty, high ideals of Christian character, and contribution of talents to the NCU community. She graduated magna cum laude (3.70 to 3.89 GPA) with a Bachelor of Arts in teacher education.

“On behalf of the faculty, staff, and board of trustees, it is my privilege to congratulate them on their achievements and thank them for their many contributions to the NCU community during their time on campus,” said NCU President Joseph E. Womack, Ed.D. “I am proud of all of our graduates. I look forward to learning about all of their future accomplishments so they can be shared with the next generation of NCU students as examples of how Wisdom Faith Service are integrated into the lives our successful alumni.”
