More than 300 Northwest Christian University students, faculty and staff will engage with 24 non-profit organizations during the annual Embrace The Community event on Thurs., Sept. 14, 2017.
“ETC participants will sign up for a variety of work assignments to provide needed assistance to the non-profit organizations who do so much good for the community and our students,” said Jennifer Little, M.A., Assistant Director of Residence Life and Coordinator for Campus Ministry. “We expect ETC Day to help light the flame for our students to become Beacons of Wisdom, Faith and Service for each other and others in the community.”
Hosea Youth Services, CASA of Lane County, Springfield Youth Farm, Mt. Pisgah, Eugene Mission, Camp Harlow, Child Evangelism Fellowship, Greenhill Humane Society, Grassroots Garden, Quail Park Memory Care, High Hope Haven, Olive Plaza-River Kourt Apartments, Olive Plaza-Downtown, Hope Ranch Ministries, ShelterCare, Ashes to Beauty, Relief Nursery, Bags of Love, Youth for Christ, Looking Glass-Center Point, Looking Glass-Pathways Girls’ Program, Womenspace, Inc., Love, Inc., Veteran’s Housing Project, and Oakmont Park.
“It is important to give back to a community who gives us so much,” said Courtney Robertson, a junior majoring in Teacher Education from Portland. “ETC lets students help build awareness about NCU and spread the word of God.”
