NCU Ranked #2 in Psychology

The Logo of Northwest Christian UniversityNorthwest Christian University’s psychology program was ranked number two in Oregon by Zippia, an online career service providing innovative ways for students to discover new job options with Career Map, an interactive visualization of millions of careers.

The University of Portland’s psychology department topped the list, followed by NCU, Oregon State University, Lewis & Clark College, University of Oregon, Concordia University-Portland, and Linfield College.

To rank the programs, Zippia created a Psychology Quality Index based on data from the National Center for Education Statistics and College Scorecard Undergraduate psychology programs in Oregon were then compared and ranked using the criteria from the Index, including:

Career Results

  • Mean Earnings After 6 Years
  • Mean Earnings After 10 Years
  • Ratio of people working to not working after 10 years

Psychology Emphasis

  • Percentage of Graduating Class That Are Psychology Majors (Larger the better)

School Performance

  • Admissions Rate (More selective the better)
  • Graduation Rate
  • Average Cost Of Attendance (Lower is better)
  • Median amount of debt
