Northwest Christian University offers a Special Education EndorsementThe Department of Education has approved Northwest Christian University to offer a graduate certificate program in Special Education. The Special Ed. endorsement has already been approved as part of NCU’s Master of Arts in Teaching program. The recent approval means that NCU graduate students seeking a Special Education Certificate may now be eligible for federal financial aid.

“We are pleased to offer the Special Education Endorsement/Certificate to NCU’s undergraduate and graduate education students,” said Dennis Lindsay, Dr. Theol., Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty. “NCU has an excellent faculty and staff who are always identifying new opportunities to prepare our highly qualified students to meet the needs of an ever-changing region.”

In August 2017, the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission approved the University’s Special Education Endorsement offered through its undergraduate Teacher Education program.

NCU’s teacher education program integrates Christian liberal arts academic preparation with research-based education methods and relevant field experiences that address the needs and priorities of elementary and secondary school educators.
