Two members of the Bushnell University community were recognized during its Spring 2021 graduation ceremony for their contributions to the academic and spiritual life of the University.
The President’s Award for Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership was awarded to Linda Veltri, Ph.D. RN, Dean of the Bushnell University School of Nursing and a professor in the program that she has helped established.

“Dr. Veltri is instrumental in the development and continued growth of Bushnell’s School of Nursing, including for it achieving accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), and for her scholarship, ” said Joseph D. Womack, the University’s President. “Dr. Veltri models the leadership and service we strive to teach our students.”
Angela Doty, M.A. GCDF, Bushnell’s Administrative Dean of Career and Academic Services, received The President’s Award for Exemplary Staff Performance for her continued positivity and persistent team-player mentality.

“Similar to the faculty award, the staff award is presented each year to honor an excellent staff professional,” Womack said. “Angela is a long-time Bushnell employee who is committed to the academic and spiritual well-being of our students.”
The selection committee reviewed nominations from the entire campus community for both awards and chose recipients that demonstrated high professional standards, ethical decision-making, a commitment to building the strength of their department and of the campus overall, and an effective integration of faith and service in the workplace.
Veltri and Doty each received a cash award of $1,000 and an engraved plaque. A permanent plaque that includes the names of all recipients for both awards is maintained in Pomajevich Hall.
