Bushnell University Hosts Annual Scholarship Competition

EUGENE, Ore. –Bushnell University hosted its annual Honors at Entrance Scholarship Competition on Friday, January 26th, 2024. This invite-only event targeted high-achieving applicants with a GPA of 3.75 or higher, offering them a chance to compete for a full tuition scholarship and an invitation to Bushnell’s Song Nai Rhee Honors Program. 

“The Honors at Entrance Scholarship Competition is not just about recognizing academic achievement but also about identifying students who exhibit a passion for learning and a commitment to excellence. We are excited to provide a platform where these outstanding individuals can showcase their talents and vie for transformative educational opportunities,” remarked Dr. Erin Mueller, Program Director and Professor of Psychology and Song Nai Rhee Honors Program Director at Bushnell. 

The competition brought together a pool of 20-plus exceptionally talented students, representing six different states, who were all vying for the coveted full tuition scholarship. Additionally, each participant who attended the event walked away with a $1,500 annual scholarship towards tuition, a testament to Bushnell’s commitment to recognizing and supporting academic excellence. 

The Honors at Entrance Scholarship Competition featured a multifaceted evaluation process that included a short essay, panel interview segment, and group activity designed to assess teamwork and collaboration skills. To provide participants with a more intimate experience, the event concluded with a lunch where participants and their families had the opportunity to engage with Bushnell University’s faculty members, as well as other key staff, administrators, and current honors students.
