Regular passersby in Eugene’s University District will notice major changes along Franklin Boulevard, including one building that has had a noticeable change. Bushnell University, the private Christian college in Eugene, has taken what used to be a Phoenix Inn and transformed it into a new residence hall this school year. The former hotel, which was christened Jim and Sharron Kay Womack Hall on Friday, also will serve as the university’s new welcome center for prospective students. “Essentially, this becomes our front porch,” said Michael Fuller, vice president for enrollment and student development. “This will be where our campus starts.”
