NCU’s Speech & Debate Team Compete at Pacific University

SpeachNorthwest Christian University’s Speech and Debate Team recently competed the 28-team Scheller Invitational forensics tournament hosted by Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon.

Luke Janus, a freshman double majoring in Biology and Bible/Theology from Jacksonville, Florida, and Stanton College Preparatory School, placed 5th in the event.  Other NCU competitors were:  Samantha Ross, a freshman majoring in Elementary Education from Benicia High School in Benicia, California, and Allison Boxell, a senior Communications major from Aurora, Oregon and North Marion High School.

Other teams competing in the tournament were from the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Portland State University, University of Washington, University of Portland, Lewis & Clark College, Seattle University, Utah State University, Linfield College, Corban University, and Willamette University.

NCU’s Speech and Debate Team will compete at Oregon State University Feb. 20 and 21.
