Graduates of the NCU RN to BSN programNorthwest Christian University and Linn-Benton Community College’s Nursing Program have signed an articulation agreement that creates a pathway for graduates of the community college’s registered nursing program to enroll in NCU’s Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) program ready to take classes in the major.

“NCU’s RN to BSN program is a workforce development initiative that leverages the excellent nursing education offered by LBCC and NCU,” said Joseph D. Womack, Ed.D, president of NCU. “We look forward to our work together to educate our students to improve the quality of life and healthcare in the Willamette Valley.”

The NCU RN to BSN is program is 30-semester credit program consisting of 10 eight-week classes and is taught online by NCU faculty and adjunct professors with years of professional health care experience and appropriate academic credentials. LBCC’s RN graduates can graduate from NCU in as little as 10 months.

“We are pleased to partner with NCU to offer this important opportunity to LBCC’s nursing graduates and Registered Nurse Alumni,” said Greg Hamann, Ph.D., president of Linn-Benton Community College. “Our graduates now have another strong local option to continue their professional nursing education.”

Directed by NCU Associate Professor Linda Veltri, Ph.D., NCU’s RN to BSN program was founded in partnership with PeaceHealth in fall 2015 to offer a regionally accredited program designed for recent graduates of registered nursing programs and more experienced registered nurses who want to earn a bachelor of nursing degree. NCU has similar articulation agreements with Lane Community College and Samaritan Health Services.

The second cohort of NCU RN to BSN students will graduate in May 2017.
