NCU Alumnus Mitch Karraker, M.Ed. ’14, has been named the pitching coach for the University of Oregon baseball team. Karraker, a native of Clovis, Calif., attended Fresno Community College before joining the Ducks as a catcher during the 2009 through 2011 seasons. He has spent the past few years as the head coach of the Klamath Falls Gems in the West Coast Summer League and, last summer served as an assistant coach with the Eugene Challengers, an American Legion team.
In a UO Athletics Department news release on January 12, Ducks Head Baseball Coach George Horton said, “Mitch will be a great addition to our staff. He has proven himself over the last seven seasons and I’m excited to see him take the next step. His dedication and hard work have been assets to our program and I expect him to excel in his new role.”
