Beacons Celebrate 2023-2024 at the Iggy Awards

EUGENE, Ore.  – The 2024 Iggy Awards took place on Wednesday night as the Bushnell Athletic department honored the best of the best achievements of their 17 teams and over 250 student-athletes. In addition, the 2024 Senior Class was honored.

Award Winners included:

Perseverance Award: Jessie Matthews, Volleyball and
Perseverance Award: Kell Schwers, Men’s Basketball

Legacy Award: Halle Neumann, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball
Legacy Award: Aspen Slifka, Women’s Basketball
Legacy Award: Stevie Schlabach, Men’s Basketball

Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Libby Mathis, Women’s Basketball
Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Luke Smith, Men’s Basketball

Impact Award: Justin Rogers, Men’s Track & Field
Impact Award: Jamison Hanson, Men’s Basketball

Male Champion of Character Award: Kyle Casperson, Baseball
Female Champion of Character Award: Mayah Pappas, Women’s Track & Field

Female Athlete of the Year: Aspen Slifka, Women’s Basketball
Male Athlete of the Year: Kaden Sand, Men’s Basketball

Dr. Heike McNeil Cup (Team of the Year): Women’s Basketball

Additionally, Bushnell’s Chi Alpha Sigma Inductees were announced. These athletes earned at least a 3.8 cumulative GPA and have been members of the Bushnell athletics program for at least three years. They were Kaitlin Cook (Women’s Cross Country/Track), Sierra Janikowski (Women’s Track & Field), Adrienne Mai (Women’s Track & Field), Libby Mathis (Women’s Basketball), Mayah Pappas (Women’s Track & Field), Brooke Silvernail (Volleyball/Beach Volleyball), and Madison Steelman (Softball).

Bushnell also took time to honor the 2024 senior class of athletes.
